OUR STORY

Hi, I’m Amanda, and this is the story that led me to where I am today.

I became a mum at just 15, and while raising my child, I always dreamed of becoming a hairdresser. I completed a Certificate II in Hairdressing, but balancing long work hours with being a single mum made it hard to pursue my apprenticeship.

Over the years, I worked in aged care, but the hours never aligned with family life. School drop-offs, pick-ups, and juggling work left me stuck in a cycle of frustration.

Then, in 2020, I had my fourth child, and like so many, I found myself reassessing what I wanted out of life. I didn’t want to work for someone else anymore. I wanted flexibility—to be present for my kids, take them to school, and care for them when they were sick.

A friend gave me a macrame book, and with not much else to do during COVID, I decided to give it a try. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. I began making macrame earrings and wall signs, and with the help of my family, we invested in a small laser to bring my ideas to life.

Now, I’m able to run my own business from home, working around my family’s needs. It hasn’t always been easy, but the freedom to live life on my own terms makes it all worthwhile. My dream is no longer just a goal—it’s my reality.
